Environmental Responsibility

We ensure that our business is operated in an efficient, environmentally responsible manner and actively seek to improve our processes and lower CO2 emissions wherever possible.

We operate a fleet of modern HGVs that are serviced to the highest standards ensuring that emissions are kept to a minimum. Our transport planners use sophisticated computer software to plan deliveries using the shortest routes, avoiding residential areas wherever possible. Our vehicle tracking system monitors our entire fleet and provides recommendations that can improve efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.

In 2008 work was completed on a new office building at our North Lincolnshire distribution facility. The building features occupancy detectors throughout which automatically switch off the lights in rooms that are not in use, this is combined with a fully automated environmental system that utilises the heating and air conditioning in conjunction with natural heating and cooling from outside, ensuring that no energy is wasted providing a comfortable temperature.

Unfortunately the processes we use generate waste metal products. We always ensure that this waste is recycled and where possible we use recycling companies near to our business locations to keep the environmental impact of transport to a minimum.
